Influencing Policy

The Maldives government is aware of the benefits of tackling climate change through sustainable development solutions and protecting marine and land ecosystems. The cabinet in power during the program's launch officially supported the Sustainability Lab model as a transformative initiative that could significantly address the plastic pollution crisis in all small island nations.

Following the great work of the Sustainability Lab Pilot and its PR campaign, the Maldivian Government is directing substantial efforts to foster solutions related to the national plastic pollution emergency and reviewing their commitments to tackle the plastic pollution crisis.
